The Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37 features a stainless steel case, a blue dial, and rhodium-plated hands and appliqués. The case and the dial are decorated with 72 diamonds weighing 1.12 carats. For the IWC-manufactured 32800 calibre, IWC has integrated a moon phase module into a movement from the 32000 caliber family for the first time. The moon phase display at 12 o’clock works so precisely that it only deviated from the actual orbit of Earth’s satellite by one day after 122 years. A see-through sapphire glass back displays the movement, which has been finished with a gold-plated rotor and blued screws.
